Balsamic Fig Pastry
Take some frozen pastry dough from the freezer. Place one sheet down on a lightly floured surface. Spoon some softened balsamic fig cream cheese down the center. Fold one side of dough up over the cream cheese. Spread that side with a thin layer of any preserves - fig or apricot are best. Top that layer with the other side of the dough. You can put decorative slits in the dough before baking. Brush with melted butter and bake according to the pastry dough package instructions.
Remove from oven and dust with confectioners sugar before serving. We dress it up with some pomegranate seeds. It's festive, it looks and taste like you're a real pastry chef, and is super easy.
